History:

In 1933 a group of locals from the village of Newton, met to discuss the possible formation of a football team.  The outcome was Newton Football Club, whom it was decided, would play at Cross Lane, Newton Village.

Newton, won the West Cheshire Division One title in the 1949/50 season, and in 1953 they moved to their present ground at Millcroft. They didn’t have long, to wait before their first success on the new ground, winning the Division One title in the 1955/56 season for the second time.

Newton went on to be one of the leading amateur clubs in the region during the 1950’s and early 1960’s claiming both the West Cheshire 1st and 2nd division titles in the same season 1961/62.The Pyke Cup and West Cheshire Bowl were also added to the trophy cabinet during these glory years.

Unfortunately for Newton success has been patchy of late, but they continue to be stalwarts of the league.

Newton won the Division 1 Championship in season 2003/04 the same season that their reseve team were unable to start the campaign.
