History:-

Shell Football Club were founded in 1924, and joined the West Cheshire League soon afterwards, forging an association that has lasted around 70 years. They are justifiably proud of some of their former players.
One such player being the late, great, Joe Mercer of Everton, Arsenal, and England fame, and also local Ellesmere Port lads Paul Jones and Barry Siddall who both went on to play for Bolton Wanderers in the 1970’s.

During its long membership Shell have won the ‘Division 1’ title on one occasion the 1934/35 season, and have also won the ‘Division 2’ title, the Pyke Cup, West Cheshire bowl, and the coveted ‘Cheshire Amateur Cup’.

Shell are more than proud to have played a part, in shaping an important period in local soccer history, and with a superb ground and facilities, they are well placed to maintain their position, as a force in the West Cheshire League.

Shell FC, as from 2003-2004 season changed their name to 'Ellesmere Port FC'.
